A Study on the Contents of Protein and Lipid in Liver and Serum of Rat by Feeding Glucose and Sucrose Diet

Abstract
This study was measured to observe the contents of nitrogen and lipid in liver and serum of Rat by feeding glucose and sucrose diet.
The rats used for this experiment were adult male albino rats from a pure strain, weighing 285-332g. They were divided into the standard, the glucose and the sucrose diet group. The glucose and the sucrose diet groups were redivided into 10%, 25% and 40% diet groups.
The contents of nitrogen and lipid of their liver and serum were measured after feeding with the corresponding diet respectively for the four months.
The results obtained are summarized as follows:
1. The nitrogen content in the liver was increased 3.12 mg and 3.48 mg respectively by feeding 40% glucose diet and 25% sucrose diet, compared with the standard diet group 30.36 mg/g.
2. The nitrogen content in the serum was not significantly changed in each experimental diet group, compared with the standard diet group 10. 05 mg/dl.
3. The lipid contents in the liver and the serum were slightly decreased in each -experimental diet group, compared with the respond standard diet group.
